Project Access was created through the collaborative efforts of the Frist Visual Arts Center and the Nashville Public Library to extend the benefits and joys of visual art, reading and life-long learning. Funded through a National Leadership Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Project Access offers English Language Learners an eight-session course which includes art making, multiple on-site visits to the Frist Center and the Nashville Public Library, computer-based learning, and opportunities to display their art work and personal narratives on the Project Access website. The program begins by identifying intermediate or advanced level adult English Language Learners who are active in community-based service organizations.
